Fun in the Sun

I know I have some cheesy titles....

I guess I wasn't thinking all to clearly yesterday. I was going to take video of the kids swimming in the pool but when I'm in there with them thats not very practical and besides I was hanging out with Emily in the pool which is even more unpractical. So no pool video. Blah. We did have fun though, I got sun burnt. My own fault for not putting any screen on until it was too late. But it's already feeling better today so it wasn't a horrible burn. The kids had a great time though, Nicole brought her daughter over who is 4 years old. It was nice to see the two of them, it's been a few months. Nicole is one of the few people that I still talk to from high school, great friend. She's one of those people who is who she is always and doesn't put on different hats depending on the situation which I love because thats how I am. Anyhow, we've been friends since middle school so out of all my friends I've known her the longest! Her daughter is adorable and Kaylee just loved playing with her. We were in the pool for awhile and then took the kids to get some ice cream downtown. Of course blue moon was the flavor of choice for all three of them so we staying inside to eat the cones. 90 degree day + blue moon = big mess. After that she headed home and i took the kids back for more swimming. My mom hung out with Emily while I tortured Nathan with a swimming lesson. That child is so scared of the water and I don't know where he got that fear from. Kaylee is only two years older then him and she swims all over the place under the water, she can do three somersaults in a row, she can do backwards somersaults, and she just recently learned to dive. Nathan clings to his floaties for dear life. I really pushed him yesterday for a hour straight. By the end of it I had his swimmies off, he figured out he can touch around the edge of the pool on his tip toes so he was walking all around the edge without them. I got him to jump off the deck a few times (with swimmies) and I got him to hold onto my hands, kick his feet, while putting his face in the water then bringing his head back out to take a breath when he needed it then putting it back under. Which is very big for Nathan. I think if I can work with him a few more times I can get him swimming. I taught Kaylee and she was nervous but not scared out of her mind like Nathan. I know Jimmy doesn't care for the water too much so maybe it's in his gene's. Anyhow, I'm very proud of how well he listened to me yesterday and he came a long way so go Nathan.
Ok so this video isn't fun in the sun but it's what we do when we've had enough fun. Wii Mario Cart Racing, oh yeah:

So so so

Well having no floor in the kitchen sucks a big one but it will be nice to get something new in there. I'm sure it will look a million times better then what it did. My dad came up tonight to do some measuring and prep the floor. I think it will be a week before it comes in though. So one whole week of floorlessness. One whole week of no washer and dryer, ugh. Poor Jimmy had to go to the mat and do some loads tonight. There is no way I can go with three kids and remain sane. Plus Emily is a baby and then having to carry the loads in and out with her, uh.. no thank you. So he said he'd rather do the laundry then hook back up the washer and dryer just to unhook it a week later. It worked out well though, he dropped it off and started the loads then ran and got a pizza then put it in the dryers then ran home and ate dinner then ran back and picked it up. He didn't have to sit or anything. It's almost midnight, ugh. No pictures or video today, this will be a short one. I'm planning on taking the kids into South Haven tomorrow. My mom's pool is 90 and I plan to enjoy it!! Good thing Em's likes the water. Well I'll probably bring the video camera along tomorrow since I think I have enough pool pictures. Maybe we will go peach picking....Mmmm...

Busy Bee Jimmy

Sunday was Jimmy's work day. I took all three kids to South Haven to spend the day. We went to church, then to my Aunt and Uncle's 25 wedding anniversary party. Then we went back to my parents house were Kaylee and Nathan swam. I went on a walk on the beach with a good friend of mine and came back, had a little dinner then went swimming with the kids and took Emily in. The pool was so nice and warm, 89. Emily loved it and was kicking her little feet a million miles an hour. After swimming I went to my dad's flooring store and picked out my new floor for the kitchen and half bath. I'll post a picture when it's all in!
Jimmy, awesome man that he is broke all that annoying tile out of the kitchen and bath. He ripped the cabinet off the wall and he caulked the new windows. He was a busy little bee and got a whole lot done and didn't even draw blood!! So now I have to Emily off the bare floor until my new stuff comes in. Emily and I were playing in my bedroom while the kids were at their summer school program. Here are a few pictures:

Hot Beach Date

Like I was saying in yesterday's post, we met on the beach nine years ago yesterday. My parents came up last night and watched the kids so we could go out and be by ourselves, which does not happen often. We went to the St. Joe beach. Jimmy bought some fruit from a fruit stand so we munched on that. He surprised me with some flowers, aw. We kicked back on a blanket and just relaxed, talked and watched the sunset. It was really nice, better then going out for dinner. We always just end up going out for dinner or a movie and this was a little different and I really enjoyed it. Making a mental not to do beach dates more in the future. Anyhow here's a few pictures:

My beautiful flowers, aw:

He hates when I take pictures of him, but he's so cute with those green eyes:

Nine years ago today!

Nine years ago today I met Jimmy on the pier in South Haven. Ever since that day I knew without a doubt we'd be together no matter what. Nine years ago today we didn't go out for a fancy dinner or to the movies we met on the pier and walked along the river and around South Haven and back to the pier and just talked for hours and hours. We clicked right away, conversation was easy and comfortable, it was like meeting up with a good friend only I'd never met him before. We sat on the end of the pier for hours watching the stars. I remember leaning my head on his chest while looking for shooting stars and hearing his heart beat. He saw a couple, I kept missing them. He walked me to my car, it was almost midnight and I never wanted to part. After that we were together all the time even though we lived 30 miles apart. Good ol' non expensive gas.
Life has not been perfect, I'm not the kind of person who acts like I live in a fairy tale and that we hold hands and skip while singing cute songs all day. But life has been far from imperfect too. We have grown together so much in the past nine years. I feel if you don't have challenges if you don't have to work out some disagreements your relationship doesn't grown and improve. People who say they never have disagreed or never ever had to work through any problems are to me either in a very fresh new immature relationship or they are faking themselves. Because if you agree about everything and anything and never have a different view on things that seems kinda boring and not realistic. Anyhow, I feel like because of the bad times and of course the many good times we've grown together so much. I can honestly say he is truly my best friend and I know I am his. We've seen each other through hard times, embarrassing times, sad times, happy times, funny times, and through everything our relationship has become stronger and stronger. Because of this wonderful man I have three beautiful children I love with all my heart, I have a home for my family and I have found a love for photography. I give him a lot of credit for where I am today, because he's always been there to encourage me, to help me figure things out, to help research and even to go to certain events with me. I know there are still bumps in the road but I also know I don't have to go over them alone and if someone is along for ride, those bumps don't seem as big. I love you Honey!!

Two peas in a pod

My wonderful awesome best mother in the world is coming over to hang out with Emily while I get some work done today. That will be a big help. Doing housework isn't bad with her, it's sitting at the computer that can be hard. More so now that she's walking around everywhere. We've been looking for a gate that is big enough to trap her in the living room. Kaylee and Nathan don't have their summer school today and I believe it's suppose to be nice out so I think I'll let them run throught the sprinkler. I cut the grass last night so they should be able to find the sprinkler now that the jungle is gone. I got the floor nice and clean, ahhhh.. I wanted to mop it yesterday but ran out of time. I always go over it three times, no icky floor germs for Emily. I was thinking while I mopped the floor that I only remember Jimmy washing the floor once, and I remember him washing the bathroom floor once (kaylee puked all over it and I am very bad with puke). He doesn't like cleaning the bathroom at all, he's probably cleaned that maybe twice and I don't think I ever remember him cleaning the bathtub. But he's cleaned the kitchen more then me and has mowed the lawn a lot more then I have. Anyhow the point to my little spiel is we surely complement each other well. How bad would it suck if we both liked cleaning the kitchen and both hated cleaning the bathroom. Or if I hated mopping but liked to mow. It's nice to like cleaning opposite things. Just another reason we belong together. Jimmy and I have talked about this subject a billion times and how some couples don't realize how important it is. Aww... I'm so sweet.
Check out this very funny video of Emily:

It was a naked day.

The kids had there first day of Summer School today. I was afraid Nathan wouldn't care for but he actually told me he had a lot of fun. I decided to put them in the program to help ease them back into school and so their little brains wouldn't turn to mush. I've been trying to get a few things done around the house. This past weekend it rained Saturday and Sunday so no pictures to edit, well my mom's class pictures but I already finished those so I'm catching up on house stuffs.
We took the kids on a bike ride to Jimmy's mom's and dad's house. I'm so proud of Nathan, he's never gone that far and it's a very hilly road. Kaylee went with Jimmy before but this was Nathan's first time doing anything like that. I could tell he wasn't really wanting to but I pushed him to be open to trying it and I'm very proud of him. I'm proud of myself too, I made it with a big tank on the front of my bike. Speaking of tank check out a few pictures I took of her the other day. Naked Nemmy running around the house:

Class of 73!

Saturday night I photographed my mom's high school reunion and let me just say it was awfully interesting and very funny. Older people drunk = craziness. I had a good time and lots of good laughs. There was some older guy who kept making kissy faces at me. Then a lady who kept squatting down and then just staying there for awhile with a lost in space look on her face. Then some guy who was trashed who wanted to dance with my mom who ended up hiding in the hallway. And nothing is funnier then older people, drunk dancing to Salt n' Pepper. Oh baby baby, baby baby. Hee hee.

Today was rainy so I had another appointment I had to reschedule. Seems like the weather likes to get icky on the weekends. Ah well, I had a nice rainy relaxing day. We took Nathan to target and he spent some of his birthday money. Jimmy made lunch.. mmm.. and we were veggies all day. I even just finished doing some reading. Ahh...

Nathan's Birthday Party

So for Nathans Birthday this year we took him down to the Venetian festival and got him and Kaylee all day passes to the rides. Uncle C.J. ended up getting a all day pass too and rode on most of the rides with them. I think they had a lot of fun. I wanted to do something special for him since Kaylee had the big fancy party. He seemed to enjoy himself. Papa even got him a snow cone and elephant ear. Lucky boy! Afterwards we went back home and had pizza and then opened presents and had cake. Grams, Grandpa and Cory came over for the gift opening and cake. He's been looking through all his new pokemon and playing in his new tent all morning!!
