I know I have some cheesy titles....
I guess I wasn't thinking all to clearly yesterday. I was going to take video of the kids swimming in the pool but when I'm in there with them thats not very practical and besides I was hanging out with Emily in the pool which is even more unpractical. So no pool video. Blah. We did have fun though, I got sun burnt. My own fault for not putting any screen on until it was too late. But it's already feeling better today so it wasn't a horrible burn. The kids had a great time though, Nicole brought her daughter over who is 4 years old. It was nice to see the two of them, it's been a few months. Nicole is one of the few people that I still talk to from high school, great friend. She's one of those people who is who she is always and doesn't put on different hats depending on the situation which I love because thats how I am. Anyhow, we've been friends since middle school so out of all my friends I've known her the longest! Her daughter is adorable and Kaylee just loved playing with her. We were in the pool for awhile and then took the kids to get some ice cream downtown. Of course blue moon was the flavor of choice for all three of them so we staying inside to eat the cones. 90 degree day + blue moon = big mess. After that she headed home and i took the kids back for more swimming. My mom hung out with Emily while I tortured Nathan with a swimming lesson. That child is so scared of the water and I don't know where he got that fear from. Kaylee is only two years older then him and she swims all over the place under the water, she can do three somersaults in a row, she can do backwards somersaults, and she just recently learned to dive. Nathan clings to his floaties for dear life. I really pushed him yesterday for a hour straight. By the end of it I had his swimmies off, he figured out he can touch around the edge of the pool on his tip toes so he was walking all around the edge without them. I got him to jump off the deck a few times (with swimmies) and I got him to hold onto my hands, kick his feet, while putting his face in the water then bringing his head back out to take a breath when he needed it then putting it back under. Which is very big for Nathan. I think if I can work with him a few more times I can get him swimming. I taught Kaylee and she was nervous but not scared out of her mind like Nathan. I know Jimmy doesn't care for the water too much so maybe it's in his gene's. Anyhow, I'm very proud of how well he listened to me yesterday and he came a long way so go Nathan.
Ok so this video isn't fun in the sun but it's what we do when we've had enough fun. Wii Mario Cart Racing, oh yeah:
