Yes, I screamed and not just because it snowed.

Video of the Day:
Grumpy Emily yelling at her mommy:

Well I had a very relaxing, enjoyable weekend. It was nice to spend some time with the kids and Jimmy, and we got a chance to go through some boxes in the basement. Jimmy took Monday off of work to spend time with Kaylee and Nathan. He took Kaylee shoe shopping and then he took Nathan to pick out a video at the rental store and to buy me some flowers. Aw... My boys love me!! Today is the first day in my 12 days of Jodi birthday surprise! Heehee.. I feel like it's Christmas!! Jimmy is so good about doing special things for me, not many husbands are. Our anniversary is coming up too, married for 8 years already I can't believe it. It feels like our relationship has really matured and I feel like we're closure then ever. The end of last year had some stressful times but we've worked through those beautifully together and it's almost like our relationship has been refreshed, it's wonderful. Tonight I've got a friend coming over to workout with me. It's much easier to work out with somebody. I'm excited to be in shape this summer, if the weather would ever warm up. This stupid weather, it was just snowing out!! Yesterday was a small taste of spring weather and it had to rain!! I wanted to take Emily on a walk in her new stroller. Boo!! Speaking of Emily she's been napping for the past three hours, sleepy girl!! She must be growing. The kids are home for spring break, I'm taking the time to work on Nathan's writing with him and having Kaylee read and write letters. It seems like there isn't much time during the day, it goes so fast.

Now onto the exciting news!!! I'm being published in a book!! Well not me but a picture I took of Emily! Actually if you want to see which one scroll down a blog or two, it's the one with her chewing on the easter egg wearing her white hat. I came across an opportunity to submit a picture online for a chance to be published in a book. Everytime I look at this picture of Emily I swear it feels like something you'd see in a magazine so I decided to choose that picture and give it a shot. I got a letter from the editor on Saturday. They choose the picture of Emily for it's composition and overall tone. They plan on publishing the picture along with a small bio on me in the 2008 best photography hard bound book! This is so wonderful I'm very happy. Yippee!!

Hobby Lobby how I missed you!

Ok so finally I get to leave this house and head to South Bend for a nice trip to Hobby Lobby, probably the mall and a late lunch at Olive Garden...mmm...
Jimmy has the day off of work, my mom is coming by to watch Kaylee and Nathan but we will be taking Emily monster with us. I'm excited! Oh... and my birthday is coming up on the 14th. Jimmy told me last night that he's going to give me something each day from April 1st-12th because thats when we're going to celebrate it. Aww.. what a big sweetie pie honey face! I'll be sure to post what goes on those 12 days, I'm excited!
Oh.. my mom just got here! I'm off!
Oops I forgot to actually publish this before I left, oh well. I guess now I can write about what a nice time I had with my husband pie. We went to Olive Garden for lunch and it was very yummy, mmmm I just love their salad. Then Jimmy took me and Em over to the mall where we ended up looking at anniversary rings at every jewelry store in the mall. I found a few I liked and even tried on a 15k diamond ring which I would NEVER want, ever, even if we had money coming out the nose. Why would anyone want such an expensive ring?!? I would feel terrible wearing something that cost that much, do people have any idea what a waste that is? I understand getting something nice because you care about that person and you want them to have something nice but there is a big difference between a nice ring and a ring you buy just to show off as a status symbol. Not for me, no thank you! I'm just not a material girl like that but it was crazy to try it on, just thinking you had over 15k worth of diamonds on your hand, thats like walking around with a car on your hand. Geez.... my hand was shaking because I was afraid the ring would fly off my hand and get lost. Anyhow then we went over to Hobby Lobby where I bought a few nice picture albums to fill, you know me the picture queen. I also got a really nice shelf that doubles as a coat hanger for the back room. Then Jimmy stopped at the super target so I could get my favorite treat ever, jelly bellies. We found some cute outfits for Emily there and checked out the jogging strollers but ended up buying one at Babys R Us. Now daddy can take Emily jogging after dinner a few nights a week and I can take her one some nice walks during the day. Thats good for all of us, gets Emily fresh air and me some time alone and Jimmy can work on getting in shape. Anyhow, we're back now and I'm thinking I might hop in the tub!

Usually she makes the best faces the first couple bites but she's been doing better eating lately.

If it snows again I'll scream!!!

Yeah thats right, I'll scream, I most certainly will. Kaylee and Nathan are getting older now, six and eight, so I figured it's time for some good ol' fashioned family meetings dun dun dunnnnn... Maybe meeting is a strong boring word, how about family discussion... talks? Something like that. Anyhow we all get together and talk about anything thats bothering them at home or school and then follow it up with stories of good things or funny things that have happened. The goal... once a week no less then every other week. So I totally need to come clean, I copied an idea my cousin had on his blog. Sorry, it was such a good idea and I thought it would be just perfect for my children, I couldn't help myself. On his blog he has 26 things he'd like to do while he's 26, I read that and thought... wow... thats a sharp idea! We Kollers are rather bright bulbs, so I used his idea and put my own spin on it. I got the kids little mini notebooks and had Kaylee think of nine things she would like to do while shes nine and Nathan has seven things he wants to do while he's seven. They printed each idea on it's own page, that way they could fill in basic info on when they met their goal, date, how they did it, etc. Jimmy and I will help them and we'll talk about how they're doing at our little family get togethers. One of Nathan's is learning how to prepare five foods in the kitchen while Kaylee would like to go on a bike ride with daddy once a week (during nice weather). I really think this will be a good memory maker plus will help them set goals and strive to meet them. So kudos to my cousin! On to other family news... Emily is now all alone in her bedroom. Jimmy and I moved back to our other room and are no longer sleeping in the same room with her anymore. I have mixed feelings about this, I actually don't mind that she's in the room alone but when she gets up for her night feeding I have to walk all the say down the hall to get her which doesn't seem like a lot but if she's having a bad night, like last night then the hall grows to be about ten miles long. Poor Emily had some gas problems in her tummy last night and just fussed every couple hours, I could her hear letting out toots a lot and I could tell she was uncomfortable. Anyhow the nice thing about sleeping six inches away from her was being able to comfort her by reaching through the crib bars and not even having to get out of bed. So today I'm tired and ready for a nap and ready to pick up some baby gas meds. in case we're gassy again tonight. Did you notice Emily's adorable pictures on her blog?! She's so dang cute! I stuck one at the top of this blog, don't you just want to eat her up?! So I'll end my exciting blog with a clip of Emily that I just took, she's boring today so I made up my own fun.
Video of the Day:
Remember I'm lacking sleep so that means I go through the day making up songs:

Also notice when I went back to Emily after filming the car she was on her hands and knees which was what I was trying to capture in the first place. Naughty baby.

Jodi's List version 1

Alrighty, I'm making note of different products/things/foods/stuffs that I love and why I love them. I think I'll try to update every so often because I doubt I'll be able to name everything off the top of my head. I call it "Jodi's List" and here it begins:

Food/Drink:
Simply Lemonade and Simply Orange:
I love this stuff, it's simply delicious....ha! I made a funny. But seriously I love the lemonade the most because if you look at the label on the back there are like three ingredients, filtered water, lemon juice and sugar and that would be real sugar not that high fructose nonsense. It's so yummy, I love the orange juice too, I like to drink it with my breakfast. If you haven't tried it and you like Lemonade then try it. Go on... right now...

Claussens Pickles:
If I'm eating a sandwich for lunch I always eat a Claussen's Pickle with it. These magic little tidbits aren't in with the "regular" dill pickles. Nope they like to keep these wondrous yummies cold so you'll have to look for them by the lunch meats. They have such a nice crispy snap, I don't like my pickles soggy!

Jimmy John's Turkey Tom:
Speaking of sandwiches I love Jimmy John's and their turkey tom is so good. I love their bread, it's not too thick and has a nice texture, kinda firm on the outside and softy on the inside. I always ask for added cucumbers on my sandwich because sometimes the tomatoes aren't very good in winter and if I need to pull them off I still have the cucumber to add a little something special.

Jones Soda's root beer:
Again they use pure cane sugar so if you're going for pop this is the pop to drink. I love root beer and this stuff is the stuff. Mmm...

Florida Natural fruit nuggets:
Think fruit snacks for adults. Comes in Strawberry, Orange and Blueberry and all are really very yummy. Only 50 Calories a pack and they're fat free, no preservatives or artificial colors plus a nice amount of vitamin C and they're Kosher. I found these goodies at Target by the regular fruit snacks. Mmm... made from 66 percent real fruit puree and juices.

Products:
Curel lotion:
Every night I wake up to go to the bathroom and when I get back in bed my feet always feel dry and they bug me to the point that I need to put lotion on them or I'll just be laying in bed forever thinking about how annoying they feel. I got a bottle of Curel lotion in my stocking this past Christmas (thanks mom) and I love it for my dry night time feet. It's nice because it doesn't have that sticky feeling that some lotions have and actually when I put it on it almost has a "wet" feeling, a watery feeling or something and it keeps my feet happy for the rest of the night. I know, I'm a freak!

Physician's formula makeup:
The best makeup (I think) that you can buy at a regular store. It's light and it doesn't clog my pores. I love the baked eye shadows, they go on really smooth and have a nice natural look to them and the lip plumper really does make your lips look fuller!! I've used other makeup and it always causes some naughty little pimple to pop out but I've never had problems with this makeup.

Dove unscented deodorant:
I've never liked scented deodorant because I think it's scent mixes with whatever lotion I have on and I don't like the combo. I love Dove because it keeps me from smelling like my brother (ha) while keeping my pits from drying out. This is the only deodorant I've used that works well yet doesn't dry out my poor armpits, I hate dry skin under my pits.

Aveeno Baby lotion:
This stuff is worth it's weight in gold! I've used it on Emily since she was a little newborn and it works so well. Regular baby lotion always seemed to dry her skin out more so I switched to the Aveeno baby lotion and it took care of her dry skin after the first time I used it. This lotion is also not sticky but it's thicker so it coats nicely.

Other:
The Firm Transfirmer:
This workout will kick your hind end three ways till next Tuesday and back again. They say you will notice visible results in 10 workouts or less and they are not lying. It's a nice combo of weight training, step and cardio for a long long long hour. Make sure you have a bottle of water near you because you'll need it.

Great Wolf Lodge:
Super fun place to take your kids in the winter when you live in good ol' Michigan. Indoor water park with Magi Quest game and story hour, loads of kid fun. We went recently and everyone really enjoyed themselves, even Emily loved it. The water park is fun for all ages with a nice sized toddler pool that Emily loved all the way up to adult hot tub and tube water slides. They have different types of rooms but even the basic room we stayed in had a fridge with counter space and living area and was plenty big. Plus if you stay off season they usually slip a deal under your door trying to get you to book another night. So only book one and hold out for the lower rate for the second night! I've got a blog all about it back in Feb, check it out!

Psst... check out Emily's Blog for her newest pictures from Easter, they turned out super cute!!

Easter Sunday

Video of the Day:
Grandma's house, Easter:

So we went to Grandma's for Easter on Sunday. I love Holiday's at Grandma's, all the food and family it's so much fun. Grandma Holidays = 3 f's, food, family and fun. I thought that up all in my little head, I'm a sharp pencil. Anyhow my Cousin Crystal is trying to move to Maine this fall and if that's ends up working out then this will be the last Holiday at Grandma's before she moves. We went to church before Grandma's and it was a really nice service, the kids put on a play they have a group and they do this sing, sign and dance. It was really nice, everyone seemed to really enjoy it. My brother and his girlfriend, Rachel had spent Saturday night at my parents so they were up. I hope my darling brother treats Rachel well and behaves himself because she's a keeper! They're even entertaining the idea of moving down South a little which would be wonderfully awesome! I miss my brother, I live south of mom and dad and he lives north of them so it seems like I don't get to visit with him a lot and when I do it's usually a short visit. Here's a few pictures from Easter:

Jimmy's Easter Letter

Video of the day:
Kaylee's Fairytale tea story:

Kaylee made up story based on what she thought really happened to Little Red Riding Hood. Her class had a fairy tale tea where parents and family were invited to have cookies and listen to their child read the stories that they had worked on.

Jimmy is such a good daddy, we just got done hiding the kids Easter eggs (plastic) and hiding their Easter baskets and Jimmy typed up a letter from the Easter Bunny explaining that they were having Easter a day early this year. We are planning on going up to South Haven Sunday morning and since we have a little baby plus the drive takes a half hour, I figured it would be easier to just go ahead and let them find their eggs on Saturday. My Grandma always has Easter dinner and an egg hunt at her house for the kids so they'll still have egg hunting fun on Sunday. Of course stinky Michigan has to have a winter storm on Easter this year, why do I live in this state?

Letter from the Easter Bunny (written by daddy) to Kaylee and Nathan:

Dear Kaylee & Nathan,

Happy Easter! Well, it is almost Easter…

I’m happy to say that all of my bunny friends are helping me out this year. My wife is about to have another baby, so she cannot help me hide eggs this year. We’re so excited to have a new baby bunny. When he gets older, he will get to hide the eggs when I’m old and can’t hop anymore.

I’ve instructed my friend Fuzzy and Tulip to hide your eggs this year. Fuzzy is a nice fellow and Tulip is the sweetest lady bunny I know. They are bringing your gifts a day early so you can celebrate Easter with Jesus. Since it is really his day, we are delivering your gifts this morning. I hope you enjoy everything.

Fuzzy should be placing Nathan’s gifts in your basement because Tulip is scared of dark places. Tulip will be locating Kaylee’s gifts somewhere between the living room and dining room.

Have a great Easter and tell Jesus I said Hi.

Love,
Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny

Shopping again!

Video of the day:

Today I went shopping again. I've been shopping a lot lately, to bad it costs money to shop! Found myself a nice pair of heels for Easter. I can't believe this weekend is Easter, crazy. Time sure is flying by and I'm thankful for that because it's warm weather I'm wanting. I've had enough cold now. I've been trying to work out 3-5 times a week. This week has been hard because of Emily's doctor apt and shots. She's been wanting her mommy to be by her because she feels icky. I worked out good last night though, I can feel it in my butt!! Today Jimmy's brother is coming over for dinner. I've got a roast cooking and it smells yummy!! Poor Jimmy's been so busy at work he's about to go crazy. Hopefully he'll get all this done soon so there is one less monkey on his back. The people who live across the road from us have their house up for sale and the people who live next door will be putting there's up shortly. I'm hoping for a nice couple our age with maybe a kid or two to move in. That would be wonderful!

It's been awhile

Video of the Day:
Kaylee on the phone with a friend.

Yeah, I'm alive...I think. Let's see, what exciting things happened this weekend?! Oh oh I remember, I went shopping on Saturday with my mother dumplin'. Boy oh boy did I need out of the house in a hurry. After spending a week with sick kids then sick me, wasn't pretty. So I got a pretty dress for Easter and I got some new shoes to wear when I want to dress jeans up a bit or they'd look nice with black slacks. We found Nathan his Easter shirt and a sweater for Emily to go over her adorable Easter dress. So whew, I'm ready for this Sunday. Jimmy (the best husband/father in the world) found Mario toys at Game Stop (video game store). I almost had a heart attack when he brought them home. Nathan is going to flip! FLIP!! We're going to put them in his Easter basket. I'll be sure to have the camera handy to catch all the Joy. Sunday we went to church my cousin and his wife were there. They are expecting a baby due the same day Emily was due. I'm so excited for them but glad it's them and not me! No more babies over here, can I get an Amen! Then we went out for lunch. I had a photo shoot in the afternoon and that went well. So I was out of the house all weekend and that was good, very very good. Today Emily has a doctors apt. and I have to do some editing or I'll never get it done. Jimmy stayed home and worked here yesterday and I love having him here even if he's busy working. It's nice just to see his head sticking over the top of the computer chair (even if that head needs a haircut). I'm so excited, my Birthday is coming up in less then a month and he's told me that this will be the best birthday I've ever had. Heehee... but he won't give me any hints. Hints I tell you!! I need them!! Well I guess I better get ready for Emily's doctor apt.

What a mess!!

Well after a long long long week I think we might all be feeling better. I hate to get my hopes up though because Jimmy hasn't gotten sick and neither has Emily. So I'll knock on some wood just in case. So lets see.. Nathan got sick Friday night and was feeling icky until Monday then he went back to school on Tuesday. Kaylee got sick on Tuesday night and went back to school on Friday. I got sick Wednesday afternoon and am finally feeling mostly better today. I'm hoping if we can make it through the weekend without Emily or Jimmy getting it we will be in the clear. Whew and lets just say it's not a fun on to get! So I'm guessing the going to hobby lobby this weekend plans are off again. I have other things I need to do. I've got to go find Kaylee and Nathan something to wear for Easter. I need to pick up a little sweater for Emily to wear, I've got to figure out something for me to wear for Easter. Then of course I have to get a hold of the easter bunny and see what he wants to put in the kids baskets this year. Dang Easter is too early this year, I'm not prepared at all. So since I only have one weekend before Easter I better stick around this area and get some stuff taken care of. I'll probably end up at Target and Kohls tonight depending on if I feel up to it. If not for sure tomorrow. It would be nice to get out of the house a bit since I've been stuck in it all week long. I'm looking forward to eating dinner tonight. I'm also hoping for a walk if the weather is warm enough. I thought it was suppose to be around 50 today. If not I'll wait, I don't want to get a chill. I'll probably spend the evening reading since I'm sure Jimmy will be playing some online games tonight. I did post a new Emily blog on her site a few days ago. So go check it out!!

Feeling better

Video of the day:
Emily watching Kaylee and ignoring her mama:

Well Nathan's back to school today! Thank goodness he seems better. So far nobody else has gotten it and hopefully nobody will. I'm so glad Emily didn't, it would just break my heart to see her so small sick like that. I'm afraid I'm trying to get something in my chest. I've got a tickle down in the bottom of my throat, I hope it doesn't turn into anything. I'm going to try and cook some fish for dinner tonight. Not sure how yet but fish is so good for you and I never make it. I have to go grocery shopping this morning. Ew... not my favorite thing to do. I'm hoping everyone will be well this weekend so we can go to South Bend. Oh good news, Jimmy's brother has an interview today at the post office. He's hoping to get in there and I have a good feeling about it. Hopefully all will go well.

Poor Nathan

Video of the day:

So we WERE going to go to South Bend today and go to the Olive Garden and Hobby Lobby. Plans like to change, poor Nathan got sick last night so we are staying home today. He seems to be doing much better today though. Last night was not so good, he tossed some cookies and not the tasty kind. South Bend will have to wait. We all slept in some this morning and now Jimmy is down in the basement working on Kaylee's room or room to be. I shot some video of him that was fantastic, showed his butt crack but he doesn't want me to include that clip, hmm.. don't see why. Kaylee, Emily and I just got back from the grocery store. It's freezing cold, bitter cold, nasty cold but dang it I'm grilling out and the weather can bite me. I picked up some steak mm... and salad.. mmm... and I'm going to make baked potato's mmm.. Doesn't that sound like warm weather food? I'm picturing the weather warming up and I'm going to start grilling and I don't care what March has to say about it so NAH! I've got a surprise for Jimmy too!! Shh....
Some very yummy brownies. Mmm.. summer brownies.

South Haven Visit

Video of the Day:
Emily and her Great Great Grandma:

Well I had a very nice day today. I went up to South Haven to visit my friend Amy and her children. Kaylee and Nathan were in school so I just had Emily. Her little boys were so sweet with her. The youngest kept kissing her on her head. Aw.
I got to have lunch with my mommy dumpling too. We went to Captain Nemo's and I had a yummy turkey sandwich and we split some fries.
Before lunch we stopped by to visit my Grandma's. I brought my video camera along in case we did end up over there. I've been wanting some video of Emily and Great Grandma since thats where Emily gets her middle name from. Grandma's are so cute, they really fuss over babies. Anyhow it was really sweet, I'm glad I brought the camera.
I'm excited about tomorrow. My dear friend Johnna is going to come over and hang out with Kaylee and Nathan while Jimmy and I take Emily to South Bend. We'll probably head out around 12:30 and end up having a late lunch at Olive Garden and then stop by Hobby Lobby. It will be so nice to spend some time together. Even though we have to bring along the little turkey but that's ok she's good and she needs to stick close to her mama.
Jimmy surprised me today. I got back from visiting in South Haven and opened the door to classical music. I stepped into the family room and there on the desk was this huge wide screen monitor. It's really nice but seems kinda strange to have all this viewable space. Don't know what to do with it all. But I don't know it will be nice to edit on it. Well I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!! XOXO

Blessed!

Yesterday was a really nice day. I got to spend a good amount of time playing on the ground with Emily. I can't believe how big she's getting and how fast time goes by. I swear it feels like just days since she was born and she's already nearly six months old. I posted some pictures on her Emily Ila blog, there's a link on the right side of the page so check it out. Jimmy made dinner last night while I had a massage appointment which sounds more glamorous then it it. That lady hurts me!! But it's a good hurt. I know it's crazy but carrying around the sisters and then having a camera strapped to my neck (more so in summer) really causes some good size knots up in there. Thank goodness for insurance covering because I really notice an improvement in not only my neck bet less headaches.

So I have some exciting news!! I'll be doing all the photography for a children's healthy food cookbook. I'm just so excited I can hardly stand it. Just me!! In the whole book! Published!! Yay! I'm booked for a solid 7-8 hours in May to shoot kids making and eating healthy snacks. And on top of that I worked it out with the guy who hired me so I can pass out my card to all the kids and their parents. Thats wonderful!! Also I've got a marvelous idea for prom this year. I'm not saying anything about it until I get things worked out more. Creative juices are flowing. I'm so excited about photography in 2008. I'm not pregnant!! I can roll around in the sand again and it's so nice! I've got my new site, I'm actually (gasp) willing to book some weddings this year, I'll be in a published book, I've got some promising ideas and it's just wonderful! Let's all hold hands and dance around in a circle!

THE SITE IS UP AND RUNNING!!!

Video of the day:
Emily getting up on her knees:

I'm very excited to announce the launch of my new website!!! Jimmy has worked so hard the last couple of weeks and more so the last couple of days to get it done for me. He put it online for the first time last night and I LOVE it!! It's brand new so there may be a few kinks that need to be worked out but it's done and it's up! Just in time to because I sure have had a lot of traffic the last couple of weeks! It's so nice to have an updated improved site for people to see. He's had the basic layout in his head for over a year now but we've been so busy (having a baby, getting the house updated, changing his job at work) that we haven't had much extra time to work on it until recently. He came across the picture viewer a long time ago and knew he'd use it at some point. I decided to take on more weddings this year and I'm a little nervous about it. I'm so use to taking pictures of people in controlled sessions that I'm not 100 percent sure on what to expect. But I always beat myself up about things and I know I'll do a good job so I need to relax about it. I just have had a bad experience with someone who had gone to school for photography basically telling me that to pull off a successful photography business you have to have gone to school. They gave me the impression that I wasn't taken serious and that I was almost going through a phase and at some point I'd realize I wasn't a "real" photographer. Anyhow that situation was really hurtful and I let it bother me more then I should of. I now realize that talent can't be taught at school you either have it or you don't and although they can show you how to do different things you don't have to go to college to figure those things out for yourself. Not in the case of becoming a photographer anyhow. Everyone has different styles and ideas of what they like or don't like. It's amazing how I'll sit down with a client and go over their pictures with them and they will LOVE a picture that I didn't really pay much attention to. Because everyone has a different idea of what they like. Variety makes the world go round. If we're all the same we'd be so boring. So even though I didn't go to college my business still works because it's from my heart and it's real. I'm not pulling out poses I learned in school. I'm pulling out what I see in my head as to what I feel would look "right" for the person I'm taking a picture of. So go and check out the new site and love it!!

Busy Weekend

This past weekend sure flew by!! My parents and brother came over for a visit on Friday night. We played some games and C.J and Jimmy played some video games later on that night. It's always nice to spend some time with the family. My mom came back up Saturday morning so Jimmy and I could run to Michigan City to pick up a few things at the outlet mall. But it sure is hard to get what you need on such a short amount of time. Emily still needs me to feed her so I have to make my trips short. I think we're going to take her with us this upcoming Saturday and go to South Bend. I want to go to Hobby Lobby and get some picture frames and then have a later lunch at Olive Garden, Mmm.. salad. Maybe we'll see if we can find someone to hang out with Kaylee and Nathan so they don't have to go in that "boring" store. Poor abused children. So anyhow Saturday we were out of town. Sunday we had a nice day to relax. We ended up taking a nap and then Jimmy was working in the basement on Kaylee's room while I cleaned the house. Today I've been busy working on getting my website info updated. Sheesh so much to do. I'm excited because I just got my picture order in the mail with all my new Emily pictures.

Here's a video of my brother and my husband from this weekend:
