Video of the day:
Emily getting up on her knees:
I'm very excited to announce the launch of my new website!!! Jimmy has worked so hard the last couple of weeks and more so the last couple of days to get it done for me. He put it online for the first time last night and I LOVE it!! It's brand new so there may be a few kinks that need to be worked out but it's done and it's up! Just in time to because I sure have had a lot of traffic the last couple of weeks! It's so nice to have an updated improved site for people to see. He's had the basic layout in his head for over a year now but we've been so busy (having a baby, getting the house updated, changing his job at work) that we haven't had much extra time to work on it until recently. He came across the picture viewer a long time ago and knew he'd use it at some point. I decided to take on more weddings this year and I'm a little nervous about it. I'm so use to taking pictures of people in controlled sessions that I'm not 100 percent sure on what to expect. But I always beat myself up about things and I know I'll do a good job so I need to relax about it. I just have had a bad experience with someone who had gone to school for photography basically telling me that to pull off a successful photography business you have to have gone to school. They gave me the impression that I wasn't taken serious and that I was almost going through a phase and at some point I'd realize I wasn't a "real" photographer. Anyhow that situation was really hurtful and I let it bother me more then I should of. I now realize that talent can't be taught at school you either have it or you don't and although they can show you how to do different things you don't have to go to college to figure those things out for yourself. Not in the case of becoming a photographer anyhow. Everyone has different styles and ideas of what they like or don't like. It's amazing how I'll sit down with a client and go over their pictures with them and they will LOVE a picture that I didn't really pay much attention to. Because everyone has a different idea of what they like. Variety makes the world go round. If we're all the same we'd be so boring. So even though I didn't go to college my business still works because it's from my heart and it's real. I'm not pulling out poses I learned in school. I'm pulling out what I see in my head as to what I feel would look "right" for the person I'm taking a picture of. So go and check out the new site and love it!!
